Hi!! My fun activity for this week is Making Sourdough Starter and then trying to make something yummy with it! I am handing out the book “Simply Sourdough – The Alaska Way” by Kathy Doogan, a fun handout that explains the science behind sourdough and a bag of flour to get you started! Come on Friday, May 1st to pick up your package of goodies to get started! Anytime between 12:30 and 3:00 p.m. is fine!
Send us your pictures of pancakes! (sourdough pancakes!) or bread, or whatever you try out of the recipe book!

Hello McNeil Migrant students and families!

I hope you are starting to settle into a routine of being able to get your schoolwork done and still have time for fun and the outdoors! If you are having any issues with getting into the teacher’s classroom, or Zoom meetings, or need some help with your schoolwork, please give me a call here at school (907)235-8181, ext.4742 and I will talk to you and set up some way to help you! I also have two tutoring Zoom sessions already going, one from 10-11 a.m. and one from 2-3 p.m, Monday through Friday. Check the blog posts below for invitations to join in one of those!

Later in the week I will be posting a new fun activity of making a bird feeder and playing a bird bingo game!

Hello Parents and Students,
The McNeil Canyon Elementary Science Fair is just around the corner. While we will not be able to see the projects in person, we will have a virtual science fair. Please see the timeline and grade level informational packets that are linked below. All students who are participating must submit their topic, question, and hypothesis by April 17. Virtual project submissions are due on May 7 and projects will be judged May 11 – 13.

Well, here we are started into week two of distance learning! I hope you are all starting to get used to using Zoom and Google classroom! If you run into any issues, don’t hesitate to call me. So we have been “doing” distance learning for 3 days now! It seems like you are getting the hang of it intermediate classes, but not sure about primary students:  Kg.-3rd grade.
